Switch from VFitz to ViewForge

VFitz alternative for Shopify — four tiers, one feature set

VFitz is the cheapest fitment app on the App Store and it is not close: $7.67 a month for a thousand vehicle mappings. Worth knowing what the ladder buys before you commit a catalog to it, though. Every tier from $0.97 to $57.97 ships an identical feature list. You are not upgrading into capability. You are only ever buying more rows.

Cheaper, and it stays exactly the same.

Four VFitz price tiers with an identical feature list beside four ViewForge tiers that each add capability
Switching from VFitz

The ladder only ever adds rows.

It is cheap, and that is not a trick

Start by saying the true thing: VFitz undercuts everything in this category, including us. A thousand vehicle mappings for $7.67 a month, ten thousand for $17.87, unlimited for $57.97, with a 30-day trial on the entry plan. ViewForge Starter is $19 for a thousand products. If price per row is the metric you are optimising, VFitz wins and no amount of feature comparison changes that arithmetic.

But every tier is the same product

Read the four plans next to each other and the feature list does not move: drop menu, product mapping, cart verify, order notes, vehicle database, visual styling. That is the $0.97 plan and it is also the $57.97 plan. The only variable is how many vehicle mappings you are allowed. That is a defensible way to price a single-purpose app, and it also means there is nothing above you — when the catalog outgrows what the app does, the answer is not a higher tier, it is a different app.

Where that ceiling shows up first

Almost always in data entry. VFitz takes a CSV, which covers fitment you already hold in a spreadsheet. It has no answer for fitment that only exists inside product titles like "Fits 2015–2019 Ford Focus SE" — that has to be turned into a spreadsheet by hand first, and on a few thousand SKUs that is the fortnight nobody budgeted for. Smart Parse on the $49 Professional tier reads it out of the copy directly, with a confidence score per record so you review the ambiguous ones rather than all of them.

And it is vehicles, only vehicles

VFitz describes itself as built for auto parts stores, and its dimensions are the vehicle ones. There is no custom template builder and no non-automotive schema, so a catalog that adds trailers, marine, small engines or printer supplies has nowhere to put them. ViewForge ships eight templates and renames all four cascading dimensions from the $19 Starter tier, which is what turns Brand / Series / Model / Implement into a configuration rather than a migration.

The fitment table stays with them

VFitz keeps mappings in its own database. Every hour spent building that table is an hour invested in something you cannot query from the Storefront API and cannot take with you. ViewForge writes the same records as native Shopify metaobjects — in your store, exportable through Admin GraphQL, still there after you uninstall. On a catalog you typed in yourself, that is the difference between an asset and a rental, and it is the one thing on this page that gets more valuable the longer you stay.

The math

Cheapest is a real answer. Just price the ceiling too.

On rows per dollar VFitz wins outright and we are not going to pretend otherwise. What their top tier adds over their cheapest is volume and nothing else — so the question is whether the feature set you are buying today is the one you still need in a year.

VFitz alternative — frequently asked questions

What does VFitz cost compared to ViewForge?

VFitz runs $0.97/month for 50 vehicle products, $7.67 for 1,000, $17.87 for 10,000 and $57.97 for unlimited mappings. ViewForge is free to 50 products, $19/month for 1,000, $49/month for 5,000 plus Smart Parse, and $240/month for unlimited with VIN decode and ACES/PIES import. VFitz is cheaper at every comparable volume. The difference is that its four tiers all ship the same feature set, where the ViewForge tiers add import tooling as they go.

Does VFitz support CSV import?

Yes. VFitz supports bulk fitment import by CSV upload for mapping products to vehicles, and it is available across its plans. What it does not offer is fuzzy matching to collapse supplier spelling variants before they land, a coverage dashboard showing which products still lack fitment, or any way to build fitment from product copy. ViewForge includes the first two from the $19/month Starter tier and Smart Parse from $49.

Does VFitz work for non-automotive catalogs?

No. VFitz is built for auto parts stores and its cascading dimensions are the vehicle ones, with no custom template builder. A catalog covering tractors, marine engines, printers, bicycles or electronics has no schema to use. ViewForge ships eight vertical templates and all four cascading dimensions can be renamed and reordered from the $19/month Starter tier.

Should I switch from VFitz to ViewForge?

Not on price — VFitz is cheaper per row and will stay cheaper. Switch if you are hitting the ceiling rather than the limit: fitment buried in product descriptions that Smart Parse can extract, a product line that is not a vehicle, a need for VIN decode or ACES/PIES import, or a fitment table you would rather own as Shopify metaobjects than rent from a vendor database. If none of those apply, the app you have is doing the job.

How do I migrate from VFitz to ViewForge?

Export your vehicle mappings as CSV and map the columns in the ViewForge importer, included from the $19/month Starter tier. Fuzzy matching flags near-duplicate make and model spellings before they land, which usually catches years of accumulated supplier variants. ViewForge writes the records as Shopify metaobjects, so from that point the fitment table is in your store. Verify with the coverage dashboard, then uninstall.

A fitment ladder that only ever adds rows next to one that adds import tooling
Bottom line

VFitz is genuinely inexpensive and the dropdown works. If a car parts catalog with fitment you already hold in a spreadsheet is the whole job, it is hard to argue with $7.67 a month and this page will not try. The thing worth knowing before you commit a year of data entry to it: the top tier is the same product as the bottom one. There is no Smart Parse to grow into, no schema for a catalog that is not cars, no VIN decode, and the fitment table stays on their side of the line when you leave. see ViewForge →
